Argus HQ — Cookie Policy
Last updated: June 28, 2026 Version: 1.0
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies the Argus HQ service (argushq.ai) uses, why we use them, and how you can control them. It supplements the Privacy Policy.
Modeled on the cookie disclosure patterns required by ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC, GDPR Art. 7, the UK PECR, and the CNIL guidelines, with reference to the publicly available cookie policies of Stripe, Notion, and Vercel.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, web beacons, and pixels. We use the word "cookie" in this policy to cover all of them.
2. Cookies we use
2.1 Strictly necessary (always on)
These cookies are required for the Service to function. We do not need consent for them under ePrivacy / PECR.
| Cookie | Purpose | Provider | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
sb-access-token, sb-refresh-token | Supabase authentication session | Supabase (first-party) | Session / 7 days |
__cf_bm | Bot management, security | Cloudflare | 30 minutes |
argus_consent | Records your cookie consent choice | Argus HQ (first-party) | 12 months |
2.2 Functional (analytics — opt-in for EU/UK)
These cookies help us understand how Customers use the Service so we can improve it. EU/UK visitors are asked for consent before these are set.
| Cookie | Purpose | Provider | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
ph_* (e.g., ph_phc_*_posthog) | Product analytics, session events | PostHog | 12 months |
2.3 Payment (set during Stripe checkout only)
When you complete a paid checkout, Stripe sets its own cookies on its hosted checkout pages for fraud prevention. We do not control these; see Stripe's Cookie Policy.
| Cookie | Purpose | Provider | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
__stripe_mid, __stripe_sid | Fraud prevention during checkout | Stripe | 1 year / 30 min |
2.4 What we do not use
- We do not use advertising or cross-site-tracking cookies.
- We do not sell, share, or otherwise disclose cookie data for cross-context behavioral advertising.
3. Consent
3.1 EU / UK / EEA / Swiss visitors
On your first visit from an EU, UK, EEA, or Swiss IP address (determined via Cloudflare's CF-IPCountry header), you are presented with a cookie banner. The banner offers:
- Accept all — sets functional cookies (PostHog) in addition to strictly necessary cookies.
- Reject non-essential — sets only strictly necessary cookies.
- A link to this policy.
Your choice is stored in the argus_consent cookie for 12 months. You can change it at any time at argushq.ai/legal/cookie-preferences.
3.2 Other visitors
Outside the EU/UK/EEA/Switzerland we set functional cookies by default with an opt-out available at argushq.ai/legal/cookie-preferences. California residents can opt out under the Privacy Policy.
4. How to control cookies
- In the Service: visit
argushq.ai/legal/cookie-preferencesat any time to change your consent. - In your browser: most browsers let you block or delete cookies. See
aboutcookies.orgfor instructions. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may break login and other features. - Global Privacy Control (GPC): the Service honors valid GPC signals as an opt-out of any "sale" or "sharing" under CCPA (we do not engage in either, but the GPC signal will also be treated as an opt-out of non-essential analytics).
5. Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Material changes are posted at argushq.ai/legal/cookies with a new "Last updated" date.
